3月4日—11日，第十四届全国人民代表大会第二次会议和中国人民政治协商会议第十四届全国委员会第二次会议胜利召开。两会期间，全国政协委员、九三学社江苏省委会副主委、原校长施卫东，全国人大代表、南通大学附属医院骨科主任医师刘璠积极参政议政，认真履职，围绕教育、科技、民生、医疗卫生等热点问题建言献策，引发《人民政协报》《中国纪检监察报》《新华日报》以及新华网、光明网等媒体的密切关注。截至目前，各级各类媒体刊发报道107篇次，其中国家级媒体39篇、省级媒体43篇。
今年两会期间，施卫东委员共提交21份提案和8条社情民意信息，其中，对于《政府工作报告》中“发展新质生产力”的相关观点建议受到央广网、《人民政协报》等媒体关注报道16次；于今年1月获评全国政协2023年度好提案的《关于加强水利工程建设和管理，推动我国水利事业高质量发展的提案》受到《新华每日电讯》《中国纪检监察报》等媒体关注报道8次；《关于推进本科专业内分类评估、助力现代职教体系建设的提案》受到《团结报》《新华日报》等媒体关注报道9次；《关于推进集成电路产业公共服务平台市场化建设、实现高质量发展的提案》受到江苏卫视等媒体关注报道8次。刘璠代表共提交5份建议，其中，《关于进一步完善跨区域异地就医医保支付配套政策的建议》受到《新华日报》《现代快报》等媒体关注报道13次。报道充分彰显了我校代表委员建言献策、参政议政的履职能力，扩大了我校的社会影响。
