近日，《人民日报》《光明日报》、“学习强国”学习平台、新华网、人民网、央广网、中央广电总台中国之声、《中国科学报》、雷锋杂志微信公众号等全国各级各类媒体纷纷刊发报道，深切缅怀全国精神文明建设典型“莫文隋”原型汤淳渊同志，并对“莫文隋”事迹持续宣传报道。
2019年7月12日21点22分，汤淳渊同志因病去世，享年83岁。他是全国精神文明建设典型“莫文隋”的主要原型，我校退休教师，原南通工学院党委委员、副院长，“感动南通•教育人物”特别荣誉奖获得者，江苏高教30年重要影响人物提名者。南通市委书记陆志鹏批示强调，“莫文隋”精神是南通“凡人善举”的生动实例，是“精神文明南通现象”的突出标志，号召全市大力弘扬“莫文隋”精神，为建设“强富美高”新南通提供坚强精神动力和道德支撑。
《新华日报》、群众杂志、《扬子晚报》《现代快报》、交汇点、扬子晚报网、现代快报全媒体、江苏教育发布以及《南通日报》《江海晚报》南通电视台、南通发布等省市级媒体进行了持续跟踪报道。
